Editor: (I was) very sad to learn of the closure of the Summit Theatre in the Cascades Casino.
The availability of dancing, my favourite form of exercise, to good live rock music (especially 鈥�70s and 鈥�80s) in a pleasant venue with a great setup) was one of the reasons that I moved to 91原创 to begin with.
DJ music, while better than no music 鈥� if well chosen 鈥� is not the same, and performance venues do not fill the same need, especially when frustrated dancers stand up at their seats and block the view of all the paying customers behind them.
I have also written to the casino entertainment manager in hopes that they will take dancers into consideration with their future plan for live music, and would encourage everyone else to do the same.
The people got to boogie!
I am not sure why your article in the Jan. 3 91原创 Times issue did not mention Newlands lounge as one of the few remaining venues locally to catch live music acts.
They have had live bands for more years than I care to admit to dancing through, and certainly deserve a nod.
