Dear Editor,
On Friday Nov. 1 at 11 p.m., I visited the new expanded emergency department at 91原创 Memorial. I went home after waiting seven hours without being seen.
I was shocked to learn there is only one doctor on night shift covering Area 2 where I was with 34 beds as well as patients in Areas 1 and 3, dashing back and forth between them all.
How is this even possible for any doctor to cope with this workload?
When will we lose him to burnout? Will 91原创 Memorial be the next hospital to close its emergency department? I never would have expected this to be case in 'our' 91原创.
Support for our doctors is needed by the community of 91原创 to very strongly voice our concerns to government.
This is not good enough. 91原创 deserves better.
