Police and bylaw enforcement could nab lots of offenders, letter writer argues

Dear Editor,

There is an opportunity here in 91Ô´´ that the local police are missing.

The noise bylaw says that unnecessary vehicle noise is a fineable offense.

If the police wanted to collect more in fines, and save many of us from irritation, frustration and sleeplessness, all they have to do is plant an officer or two at the intersection of 56th Avenue and the bypass, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Their coffers would fill up fast, as those doing the noise damage via motorcycle or car/truck, are most assuredly making the noise on purpose!

Fraser Highway and the bypass, the next block south, would also provide monies for our needed cops. For a small town, 91Ô´´ is ‘big city noisy’ (from lack of control.)

Don’t even ask me about the Chicago-level number of sirens overnight cuz I won’t be able to hear ya’.

Ray Girard, 91Ô´´ City
