Editor: I completely understand when our Prime Minister said it would cost much less to settle with (Omar Khadr) the convicted terrorist, than to let it drag through the courts.
I agree with that, however — and it’s a big however — what about the principle involved. He is an admitted terrorist — 16 is more than old enough to know right from wrong.
Murdering another human being is wrong.
I couldn’t care less that he is a Canadian citizen. Giving him a dime is an insult to every single Canadian taxpayer in our country. For that reason alone, I would have fought it out in court.
I also hope that somehow, the family of his murdered victim, can get some of that money. A terrorist is a terrorist, no matter what his citizenship. He deserved not a penny.
