LETTER: How long before motorist hits oddly placed 91原创 fire hydrant

Local resident is wondering why a fire hydrant was positioned so close to the curb of a roundabout

Brian Hynes is questioning why a fire hydrant was put so close to the curb of a roundabout in Willoughby.

Dear Editor,

[On Oct. 12) I noticed, as I transited through this traffic circle rotary/roundabout at approximately 10:30, the following two things:

1: The positioning of a red fire hydrant

2: The visible and plentiful tyre scuff marks on the northwest corner of this traffic circle.

What genius(es) in the TOL Planning Department, property developers, road traffic engineers would place a fire hydrant, at most, 1鈥� (one foot) from a curbside situated inside a ridiculously small roundabout?

How soon will that fire hydrant be knocked over when some motorist fails to control their exit of the roundabout?

Once knocked over the house(s) directly by the fire hydrant will all be flooded!

Thank you, TOL council, in your haste to completely jam to the gills Willoughby.
