Editor: I just received my Aug. 16 91原创 Times and was very disappointed to see the full page ad on the back page. It was a Wanstalls advertisement for firearms with most of them being assault rifles or at least styled after them, while they may not be full automatic the very fact that people in our society feel a need to own these types of weapons is disturbing.

Have we not learned enough from needless gun violence in the US to understand that gun control is what will spare us from sharing the same gun related death numbers as seen by our southern neighbours. These rifles are designed for military use and for killing humans, these are not hunting rifles.

I understand the revenue that a full back page ad must bring in but I would have hoped that the 91原创 Times would have a level of standards above allowing assault rifles to be plastered all over a full page ad.

We should be campaigning to remove military assault style weapons from society, not promoting them.
