Editor: It has been 22 years since I immigrated to Canada. I like 91Ô´´ as a place to raise my 16-year-old daughter. When she was born, in honour of her birthday, I worked to become a Canadian citizen who speaks, reads and writes two languages: Spanish and English.
I would like to encourage your readers to vote on Nov. 19 for a mayor, councillors and school trustees that follow this guideline: Integrity which means no corruption, responsibility and efficiency.
It is time to show to all the candidates that we care for our community and we want to put our politicians to work, to sweat their hours like we normally do in our jobs, and to feel an accomplishment when their work is done for the day. In that way, their families and ours will have a decent life to live in this beautiful part of British Columbia, where the countryside and the ocean meet.
May all of you will bring hope, peace and prosperity to the Township of 91Ô´´ for the years to come.
Maria Abrams,
91Ô´´
