High drug costs

This is a 350 per cent difference in costs, when comparing the U.S. medication to the Canadian medication.

Editor: I take an over the counter medication (not available on prescription) which is quite expensive, approximately $17 for 100 capsules. These last me six to seven days.

I have asked if there is a generic form of this drug and was advised there is not.

Out of curiosity, when I was in the United States, I checked with a drug store there.

In the United States there is a generic form, of this medication. It is priced at $16 for 320 capsules. The ingredients and dosage are exactly the same as the Canadian drug.

The difference in price is in Canada, the drug costs 14 cents per capsule. In the U.S., the cost is four cents per capsule.

This is a 350 per cent difference in costs, when comparing the U.S. medication to the Canadian medication. This I find to be very disgraceful, and discriminating to Canadians.
