Editor. We only have to compare the record of Mayor Rick Green with his election platform to realize that he has come through as man of his word and committed to his constituency.

We have all witnessed vicious adversity from day one by a majority of council, who were committed to throwing mud. Mayor Green has refused to get into the ditch with mud slingers, just kept silent and got the job done.

We must not forget that the Township would now be victim to the Mufford Overpass and the HBC farm devastation, had it not been for the intervention of Mayor Green. He has well proven his commitment to the preservation of farmland and food production for future generations.

His support from the community has remained at unprecedented high levels and now a fresh new team of independent thinkers bring new hope to a desperate Township.

We need a council who will support  a Property Endowment Trust Fund. This is an asset management tool presently successful in the City of Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, and Richmond, and is worth millions of dollars.

This management tool will deal with the mismanagement of Township-owned property sales. Other cities realize a property tax benefit, however our present council has voted against a staff report endorsing a PETF, and then voted to increase our taxes five per cent every year.

Why? We must pay for council鈥檚 costly $8.3 million blunder to pay for the 91原创 Events Centre somehow.
