Editor: I鈥檓 sure there were more than a few of us in the Township of 91原创 wondering why Mayor Rick Green did not want the Lidstone Report to go public. I guess now we know.
The Times (Oct. 20) headline says: 鈥淩eport slams Green鈥檚 conduct鈥 and goes on to say: 鈥渨hat the Lidstone Report does make clear is that Green misled his own council and misled three legal counsel about when he first learned about Brownshak Developments.鈥
Back in September, 2008, Green outlined his platform in detail at a campaign kickoff. Did he mislead the voters when he pledged a tax freeze for three years? In 2008, did Green lmislead the voters when he said: 鈥測ou will not see Rick Green endorse a slate.鈥
Green is saying he is not endorsing a slate in the 2011 election. If that is true and not misleading, what did I get in the mail from Mayor Green but his endorsement of people for council? In 2008, he called that a 鈥渟late.鈥
In 2008, Green said he could work with all the same members of council if they were elected. I really don鈥檛 believe that happened. At that time Green said: 鈥淚 think the biggest problem on council is leadership.鈥
Mayor Green has a good council right now. On Nov.19, when the mayor is defeated, there may still be problems on council, but the biggest problem will be gone.
And that is no lie.
