Walter Bruce McRae

October 6, 1932 - March 14, 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing on March 14, 2017 of Walter Bruce McRae in Oliver, BC at the age of 84 years. He was predeceased by his loving wife Shirley in 2001, and survived by his son Mark McRae (Linda); daughter Karen Sandilands (Bryan); grandson Kyle Sandilands; sisters Beverley, Sharon, Bonnie and their families. He was a man of determination with a brilliant mind, and had an exceptional sense of humour and quick wit. Throughout his 46 years of employment he was admired and respected as Project Manager for Standard General Construction (Western Paving), owner/manager of Highland Sand and Gravel, and Vice President of Valley Rentals. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, and in his younger days was a member of a pipe band and played bagpipes in many parades and functions. He also loved to play the piano which gave us all much enjoyment. His heart and humour always found the way to those he loved. Bruce was a kind and unforgettable man who will be greatly missed.
