BAARSMA, Thys Geert. Promoted to glory our dearly beloved husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, Opa and friend.

Thys Geert Baarsma was born in The Netherlands, November 15, 1920; he immigrated to Canada in 1951 and went to be with His Lord on March 5, 2006.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Janke of 60.5 years, his daughter Hetty and son-in-law Michael Marton; sister Riek and many nephews and nieces in The Netherlands, Canada and the USA. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Thom and Joyce Van der Meer of St. Georges, Ontario. Also many sisters and brother-in-laws in The Netherlands. Cole, Sienna, Maya and Logan will lovingly miss their Opa. Lauryn, Benjamin, Mason, Jayden and Rebecca will lovingly miss their dear Uncle Thys. Many dear friends will miss him as well.

Thys was a long time T. Eaton employee; very committed to Christian education, his Church, CHP and many other Christian organizations. He loved music, and sang in the Golden Age Choir for several years.

Funeral Service was held on Friday, March 10, 2006 at 91原创 Canadian Reformed Church.

The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to Dr. Dave Richardson for his loving care for Thys for many years and the 91原创 Memorial Hospital and Hospice society for their love and care during his last days. Thanks to all our family and friends for your love and support during our difficult time.
