June 25, 1946 - January 30, 2025
In loving memory ~
With heavy hearts, the family of Rick Moroz sadly announces his passing at home on January 30, 2025. Born in Fort William, Ontario on June 25, 1946, he was the ninth of eleven children. Rick welcomed his son Jamie (Marnie) in 1965 while living in Thunder Bay, Ontario. In 1972, Rick moved to the west coast where his involvement in the towing industry began. Once settled in Vancouver, Rick welcomed his daughter Rebecca (Gord) in 1973.
Rick and Darla met in 1984. They began travelling together the following year and waited until a warm sunny day in October 2011 to elope on a beach in Hawaii and officially became husband and wife. Together in 1987, they welcomed a daughter Alexandria (Steve, who he loved like a son). Darla joined Rick in the towing industry where they operated DNR Towing until their retirement in 2021. Their lives together were a forty year adventure; Travelling throughout Canada and the US, countless boating and fishing trips with family
and friends, towing and recoveries, endless days at the lake, special shared memories of granddaughter Kinsey and grandsons Nick and Jack (affectionally known as Papa). He was so loved by his family. Rick was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of 2018. After a year of aggressive treatment, he was able to put it behind him for the next three plus years. In 2022 the cancer returned and he was able to stay ahead of it until this past December. We were blessed with being able to spend Christmas together with family and friends. Rick faced cancer like a true warrior.
Rick will always be lovingly remembered by his wife Darla, his children and their spouses, stepdaughter Kathy, his sister Janice, mother-in-law Ruth, nephew Mackenzie. Grandchildren; Blake, Kassandra, Samantha, Ricky, Jesse, Zach,
Danika, Nick, Jack, Kinsey, Michael. Greatgrandchildren; James, Aiden, Scarlett, Kylar, Damon, Cash. Nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends across Canada and the United States.
We find comfort in knowing he joins his children Michael and Dawn, GGD Mila and his cherished grandson Daniel. Father-in-law
Mike, Parents Matthew and Oksana. Siblings Joe, Ed, Mary, Jo, Toots, Doreen, Kay, Dave and Baba and his fishing buddy Derrick, in that place somewhere beyond the stars.
Family and friends are invited to our home in South 91原创 to celebrate Ricks life with us on June 25, 2025 anytime from 1pm till the sun goes down. I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
Always our Superman
