BERGLUND: Rhoda Margaret. Rhoda had just turned 92 on February 8, 2006 and passed away suddenly on February 12, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred Meriam Berglund and her granddaughter, Megan Harris.
She is survived by daughters, Carole Ann Clancey (Steve) and Judith Arlene Piccolo (Bill), grandsons, Mitch, Gerard, Brandon and great grandchildren, Brook, Colton, Matthew and Ben.
Rhoda was a very private person going through her own share of tragedy in her life. She always took pride in herself, was very positive, and took great joy in helping her family and friends. Many years ago she laid one of the corner stones for Christ The King, Anglican Church in Burnaby, belonged to the Anglican Women's Auxiliary in Burnaby, she became president of the auxiliary, taught Sunday School, was the Church Treasurer and ran many a White Elephant Sale and Bazaar. She also sewed the Father's Robes with gold thread calling for Divine Order every time the thread would break. She loved sewing, crocheting, knitting, music, political affairs, current events, cooking and especially those Reader's Digest contest of which she had great hopes of winning. She got great comfort from her three cats, Patches, Ivory and Ebony and even had them talking to her while she played solitaire at her kitchen table. Rhoda gave strength and support to many of those near her.
There will be a Celebration of Her Life at the West Country Hotel, 20222 - 56th Avenue in the Banquet Room, Sunday, March 19, 2006 at 1p.m. Rhoda will be missed by her family, friends and her three cats. She would always say ''CHEER UP, THE BEST IS YET TO COME''.
