Sadly we announce the passing of Peter at the amazing age of 101yo.

Survived by daughters Tracy (Ed) Hoogland, Irma (Ken) Schuurman, grandchildren James Hoogland, Angela (Jesse Aarts), Melissa (Rick Finlay) and Jody (Michael Friesen), Nicole (Stephan Soltermann) Peter Schuurman and great grandchildren Casey, Norah, Brooke Friesen, Nathan Soltermann and Sloane Finlay.

Peter and Rina (1927-2010) immigrated to Canada in 1951 to make a new start after WWII. They established a successful home, family and business in Richmond. The coming of the Alex Fraser Bridge with its footprint on their property signaled the close of their manufacturing business in 1985.

They retired to a country lifestyle in 91原创 filling their days with gardening, hobby projects, church life, grandchildren and friends.

Their Dutch Farm inspired home, named Sixta Brooke Acres, became a landmark on 216th Street, winning them gardening awards from the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board.

Dad's hard work, discipline, and love of family, friends and God, continues to inspire the generations following him and he will truly be missed by us all.
