Merriam KYDD

KYDD: Merriam Rowena Allison (nee Jeffrey). Passed away on April 21, 2006 at MSA Hospital at 80 years of age. She was born June 28, 1925 at her parents farm in the Municipality of Gilbert Plains, Manitoba.

She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by her son Larry (Wendy), and daughter Joanne (Dennis). She was predeceased by her husband Arnold, and their daughter Glenda (Steve). She will be forever missed by her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters.

In 1950 Arnold and Merriam with their two eldest children moved from Grandview, Manitoba to the Aldergrove area. She worked the majority of her life at home but for eleven years in the sixties and early seventies worked at the 91原创 RCMP station as secretary, dispatcher, and matron and served as the Justice of Peace. After Merriam retired she enjoyed doing volunteer work at the Aldergrove United Church and the OAP Seniors Hall. Merriam and Arnold loved sprending time with their family and weekends camping and fishing with their friends. Merrian was a voracious reader with a wide variety of reading interests but particularly enjoyed books on Canadian history. She loved watching birds and actively collected Canadian stamps. She was a huge Blue Jays fan and enjoyed watching the Canuck's when they were winning. Merriam was a kind and generous woman who accumulated a vast number of friends and acquaintances throughout her life.

A celebration of Merriam's life will be held on Monday, May 1st, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the the Aldergrove United Church, 2623 272nd St. Aldergrove, BC. If so desired, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
