GOERTZEN: Mary, born March 20, 1922 in Chortiza, Russia, passed away peacefully June 5, 2004 at 91原创 Memorial Hospital, age 82.

Mary is survived by her husband of 54 years, Cornelius, her daughter Sharon (Luis), son William (Wendy) and her grandchildren, Jason (Joani), Jeremy, Daniel, Timothy, and Christopher. Mary also leaves behind a large family, her brother, Albert (Martha), Frank (Jessie), Herbert, Henry (Eleanor), Leonard (Joan), her sisters Gertie, Rita, Leola (Menno) and a very large extended family.

Mary and Cornie married and settled in 91原创 on property in Brown Road in 1950. They worked and lived on their strawberry farm making only one move, to a larger home, on the other side of the farm. Mary loved large family gatherings and Sunday's at her house were filled with sometimes up to 40 people enjoying her fabulous meals. She loved to cooked and she loved to sew. She made all her own clothes and was an excellent seamstress.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held, Friday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 24687 56th Ave., Aldergrove.
