BJORKNAS Mary Catherine Rose (Kathleen)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen on August 28, 2006, after a valiant fight with cancer. Kathleen was the "glue" of her family, and she will be deeply missed by her loving family: husband of 53 years, Clarens (Cas); children, Rosemary (Katherine); Casey (Debbie); Sarah; grandchildren, Christopher, Sean (Jami), Erin, Colm and Conner; sister-in-law Svea (Bill) and many nieces and nephews. Kathleen was born in Clandonald, Alberta on June 25, 1927, only daughter of Sarah and Bernard McKay, (predeceased) and youngest sister to Dan, Jack and Barney (predeceased). Born to Irish immigrants, Kathleen was a storyteller, artist and adventurer, fiercely dedicated to all her family. She enjoyed life, and we will all miss her eternal optimism and sense of humour. Evening prayers, 7 p.m., September 4, 2006, and funeral mass, 11:00 a.m., September 5, 2006 at Sts. Joachim and Ann Roman Catholic Church, 2827- 273rd Street, Aldergrove, BC. Reception following the mass in the church hall. Private internment of ashes. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers, please.
