With profound sadness and heavy heart, we announce the passing of a wonderful man, my husband and the love of my life, Martin (aka Marty) Deshaw.
From mid-December 2019, Marty fought multiple illnesses hard, we believed he would win. Sadly, on July 24, 2020 Marty lost the battle.
Marty was predeceased by his son Matthew, who passed away just before Marty. Matthew was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humour. We loved him very much and his loss is extremely hard to accept.
Marty was born in Vancouver BC in January 1949 to Theresa and Edward Deshaw. Marty graduated from Vancouver College with an Award of Honors on June 16, 1966; Marty later graduated from BCIT with an Award of Honors in Diploma of Technology / Marketing Management Technology on June 10, 1977.
Marty was a long-time employee of CRA before retiring in his 60's. He was very well liked having earned several accreditations, including the Queens Medal for his work ethics and genuine caring for those in need. Marty made many lifelong friends along the way.
I met Marty while attending a Union Meeting. He was a very nice-looking man with a beautiful smile and a heart of gold. I fell in love with him. On April 22, 1994, I accepted a dinner invitation from Marty and we were never truly apart again. We bought our home in 91原创 and lived happily there for 26+ years, having lots of fun and many good times with family and friends.
Marty was my life partner and my best friend. Marty leaves to mourn his loss: Shelley, Jasmine, Kai, Lorraine (Dave), Marie (Ray), Susy and many other family members and good friends. Until we meet once more Marty, I will always love you to the moon and back again.
