TRAAS, MARIA PIETERNELLA,

(nee Bruggeman)

On January 31st, 2006, we lost our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Mary Traas. She slipped peacefully into eternity at 91原创 Memorial Hospital. Surviving her death are her husband of 64 years, John Traas, her children Martina Eastman (Will), Laura Eriksson (Sven), Rina Bardo (Dale), John (Nettie), Henk (Jane), grandchildren: Lorrina, Gayle, Heather, Charles, Peter, John Olof, Ann Marie, Alisa, Leslie, Ivan, Joel, Carl and Jordan, as well as nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children Pieter and Janna, and infant grandson Nathan.

Mary was born on June 12th, 1913 in Baarland, Holland. She came with her husband and family to Canada in 1954. Mary embraced the challenges of life in a new culture and supported her husband in establishing Traas Nursery. She worked tirelessly with love and devotion. She lived a long life of personal integrity, giving her energies to her family and others. For many years she contributed her skills and zest to the Quiltaholics of 91原创, of which she was an active member.

Mary was a woman beyond compare whose memory we will treasure.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Monday, February 6th at 2:00pm at Willoughby Christian Reformed Church, 20525-72nd Ave., 91原创, BC.
