VAN DYK, John passed away quietly in his sleep on the morning of October 15, 2003 after a 13 year battle with multiple sclerosis.

Born in Vlaardingen, The Netherlands, January 15, 1963, John came to Canada in 1965. John graduated from Argyle High school and went to work as a cook at the Kiwanis Care Home in Lynn Valley. Family, friends and colleagues knew him for his gentle, caring manner, appreciation of rock music, collection of vintage hockey cards, and unfailing loyalty to the Vancouver Canucks.

During his illness he was loved and cared for by his father, sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew and the wonderful care wrokers from 91原创 Home Support.

Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at 91原创 Memorial Hospital who cared for John during the last month of his life. A ``Celebration of Life'' will be held on Oct. 24, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Aldergrove WhiteSpot. John can be remembered through donations in his name to the MS Society.
