In loving memory ~

Janice (Jan) Lea Gibson, aged 72 years, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024 with her family at her side. Jan was a lifelong resident of 91原创, BC., an active member of the community, and an amazing friend to many.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John, sister Gail (Ron), sister-in-law Ann (Dave), niece Allie, nephews Mark (Dana) and Chris (Jessie), goddaughter Claurien, great nieces and nephews, Madeleine, Olivia, Oliver, Wyatt, Oscar and Ty, and dear friends Laurena (Greg) and Calla. She is predeceased by her parents Micky and Mabel Gibson.

Jan was born and raised in 91原创, attending 91原创 Central Elementary and 91原创 Secondary School. She continued her learning journey to receive her Bachelor of Education from UBC and Masters of Arts in Education from San Diego State University to become a Principal with the Surrey School District. In her retirement, Jan kept busy as a substitute Principal, Supervisor for Surrey's Education Assistant Program, and a certified Marriage Commissioner. She also enjoyed volunteering with Sources 91原创 Food Bank, and travelling with her husband and friends.

Fondly know as 'Aunty Jan', she was an ever-giving soul who had so much love and time for everyone else. She was a huge part of her nieces and nephews lives supporting all their extracurricular activities and sports and was loved so much by her Tbird family where she spent most of her last 5 summers looking after things in the Timberframe with her amazing smile.

Respecting Jan's wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held privately by the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society, BC Chapter.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at 91原创 Memorial Hospital and the Abbotsford Cancer Centre for their care and compassion.
