SEVERIDE, Iris (nee Birchall) passed away on January 15, 2003 in 91原创 Memorial Hospital. Iris was born in Edmonton, Alberta but moved at an early age to B.C. where she lived in Duncan and Victoria before moving to Vancouver in 1952 and to 91原创 in 1953.

Iris will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her husband, Norman, her sons Geoffrey (Susan), David (Deirdre) her 6 grandchildren, Andrea, Megan, Aynsley, Patrick, Jennifer and Benjamin, her sister, Doreen and her brother, Paddy.

Iris will be remembered as a lady of quiet dignity and warmth with a gentle sense of humour. She was a strong advocate for the arts, being an early president of the 91原创 Arts Council. Iris started the 91原创 Spinners and Weavers organization and the Totem Guild. She was one of the original docents at the 91原创 Centennial Museum and served many years on the Museum Advisory Committee. She will always remain in our hearts and thoughts.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2003 at the 91原创 Community Music School at 4899 207th Street in 91原创 City.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Iris' memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the 91原创 Community Music School Scholarship Fund.
