George VOTH

VOTH, George R. passed away suddenly at home September 24, 2003 at the age of 85 years.


George was born November 16, 1917 in Hepburn, Sask. and grew up on a wheat farm. He married Eleanor Loewen from Mennen, Sask. on June 29, 1941 and the couple moved to B.C. where they raised their four children in 91原创. George was active with the Volunteer Fire Dept. and coached Little League while he was employed at Valley Lumber. He was also involved in the Elks Club as well as the 91原创 Rod and Gun Club. He loved to hunt and fish in his spare time.


George and Eleanor eventually divorced after the children were grown and George moved to Williams Lake where he worked in a supervisory capacity in sawmill construction. He met Mary Kathleen Corcoran and they married in 1978. They lived in Prince George and Fraser Lake for many years and moved back to 91原创 in 1996.


George is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kay. He was predeceased by his brother Ted (Lorraine) and leaves his sister Helen Boldt (Cornie), Katherine Loewen (Bill), and Rueben Voth; Children Karen Dyck (Helmut), Larry Voth, Lorne Voth (Karen) and Renee Voth (Laurie) as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is lovingly remembered by his step-children Marjorie MacDonald, Denis Corcoran (Carole), Maureen Cornes (George); five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.


The family will be holding a Remembrance of his life at the 91原创 Senior Centre, 20605-51B Ave., 91原创, October 4, 2003 from 2-4 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, donations in George's name to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
