Florence KENYON

November 21, 2003

KENYON - Florence Berniece passed away on November 21, 2003 at the age of 86. She began her final journey with daughter Beverley and niece Janice at her side. Berniece was predeceased by her husband Walter and brother Delmer in 1999. She is survived by her son-in-law James, sisters Mavis and Dorothy, and sisters-in-law Angela and Emily. Berniece, affectionately called "Auntie Bea" by her many nieces and nephews, shared in their triumphs and sorrows with unstinting devotion. Berniece was born in Saskatchewan, but by her teens she had begun her life-long passion for travelling. In Dec. 1941, Berniece joined the Canadian Army and was stationed in England, France and Belgium. She returned to civilian life, married, raised her daughter and worked in the offices of Public Health both in Nanaimo and in 91原创. Retirement at the age of 65 meant Berniece and Walter could leisurely travel the world and later winter in the warmer climate of Arizona. Berniece enjoyed dancing, bowling and travelling, but her greatest joy was in her capacity to surround herself with loving family and loyal friends. A celebration of life will be held at the 91原创 United Church on Friday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
