In loving memory ~

In loving memory of Alieta (nee Tufts), born in Regent, Manitoba to Thomas Edward and Mary Ann (nee Slack) Tufts and who passed away peacefully with family around her in 91原创, BC, where she and family had settled in 1955. She was predeceased in 2001 by Harry (Dr. Harry Samuel Nataros), her husband of 50 years, and survived by her only sibling, brother, Ivan Earl Tufts, who passed away May 27, 2024, by her four children, Gary Nataros (Liz Britton), Cheri Pedersen (Gren Thomas), Don Nataros (Sam Sinanan), Roderick Nataros (Cheryll) and by her twelve grandchildren, Alexander, Tyler (Alexis), Tavis, Adam, Liam, Sophie (Kenny), Grant, Olivia, Camryn, Wyatt, Maya and Lance.

Alieta graduated as a registered nurse from the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1947. With a great sense of adventure, she soon left Winnipeg and headed off to practice nursing and see the world. Her first stop was Dauphin, Manitoba, where she met Harry. They were smitten but adventurous and pursuing their careers so she headed off to nurse in Vancouver, Colorado and Georgia and Harry headed to medical school in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Harry and Alieta kept good track of each other and in 1950 they married in Brandon, Manitoba. After exploring in Europe for their honeymoon, they arrived in Belfast, where Alieta nursed while Harry continued his studies at medical school. Alieta adored her nursing years and carried those nurturing skills into her life thereafter as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and cherished friend to many.

Alieta was a wonderful matriarch for her family and a constant inspiration, independent until she passed, with a driver's license valid until her 99th birthday. She was a passionate cheerleader and coach to her family, always ready for adventure, with her wise, practical values leading the way. She proudly celebrated each and every milestone of her children, grandchildren, and all their partners, right up until her passing. Love more, laugh more and worry less were some of her many words of wisdom.

A funeral service for Alieta will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 2 pm at United Churches of 91原创, 21562 Old Yale Road, 91原创, BC followed by a Celebration of her Life at 3 pm at Adrian's at the Airport, 5385 - 216th Street, 91原创, BC.
