VIDEO: 91Ô´´ City stabbing victim not cooperative, RCMP say

Multiple police, paramedics and fire crews were called to 203 St. and Douglas

Multiple police, fire and paramedic crews responded to a report of a stabbing in 91Ô´´ City Tuesday morning, Sept.17, near 203 Street and Douglas Crescent around 8:30 a.m.

One person was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Eyewitness Cran Campbell said an injured man walked into the Tim Hortons and asked for help.

"I was sitting inside Tim Hortons having a coffee like I usually do, and a guy came in and asked the staff to phone an ambulance. He was pretty distraught. I guess one of the staff or a customer phoned the ambulance and it didn't take long for the police and everybody to get here," Campbell told the 91Ô´´ Advance Times.

"It was pretty quick."

91Ô´´ RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Zynal Sharoom confirmed that a 26-year-old 91Ô´´ man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of "serious but non-life-threating injuries," and was expected to survive.

However, he hasn't told police much about what happened to him.

"He is being uncooperative," said Sharoom.

Police believe the incident happened nearby, and were investigating in the area on Tuesday morning.

"We're trying to create a puzzle without all the pieces," Sharoom said.

"We believe that this was a targeted and isolated incident. There is no on-going risk to public safety."

Police are looking for witnesses and motorists with dash camera footage who happened to be in the area of 20300 block of Douglas between 8:00am to 8:30 am to contact the 91Ô´´ RCMP at 604-532-3200 and quote file number 2024-30019.
