The incident happened behind a building on the Lougheed Highway near 222nd Street, behind the former Mission Ridge Auto Sales building.
The person who posted the video appears to have filmed it from a distance, at a balcony on Selkirk Avenue. They said there were no major injuries, and the fire was out before the fire department arrived.
Other media have reported that police have a person in custody, however the Ridge Meadows RCMP could not confirm that for The News as of Sunday morning.
The social media site had numerous comments about anti-homeless sentiments in Maple Ridge.
