A 42-year-old Surrey man has been charged in relation to a homicide on Aug. 24 in Surrey.

Paul Martin has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the sudden death of a man inside a residence in the 19100 block of 68 Avenue. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) on Friday (Sept. 1) identified the victim as Robb Memory of Surrey.

鈥淩obb was a caring and generous person. The family appreciates the hard work and dedication of IHIT,鈥� stated Robb鈥檚 father, Cecil Memory in a statement.

IHIT stated Memory was likely killed on Aug. 24, but first responders found him several days later 鈥渄eceased suffering from injuries consistent with homicide.鈥�

Martin remains in police custody awaiting his court appearance on Sept 5, according to online court records.

Memory鈥榮 is Surrey鈥檚 ninth homicide case so far in 2023.
