With the issuance of a development permit on Monday, Dec. 12, the fast food restaurant will be built on the northeast corner of Fraser Highway and 48 Avenue, at 22525 Fraser Hwy., on a wedge-shaped piece of property covering a little over one acre.

Calling Tim Hortons a victim of its success, Councillor Kim Richter noted that the layout shows a queuing capacity for 19 cars in a lane that runs parallel to 48 Avenue and Fraser Highway.

She asked whether vehicles over the capacity could spill onto public roads. If that happens, head planner Ramin Seifi advised, vehicles would only be allowed to queue within the confines of the Tim Hortons property.

Richter asked if there is a mechanism in place to prevent queuing on roads.

鈥淥ur bylaws will prevail,鈥� Seifi replied, because they do not allow queuing on municipal streets.
