has agreed to the Township of 91原创鈥檚 request to give councillors the right to vote.

The decision was made at the destination marketing organization鈥檚 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, April 18.

There, the membership voted in favour of allowing an ex-officio council representative the right to vote as well as the inclusion of a second Township of 91原创 council representative on the board of directors.

Several new board members were also elected that night. Joining the team are Jason Calimbas (Sandman Hotels) and Paul Johnston (Trinity Western University) representing the accommodations sector; Teresa Townsley (Festina Lente Estate Winery) representing the food and beverage sector; Sean Weatherly (Otter Farm and Home Co-operative) representing the retail sector; and Taylor Henderson (91原创 91原创) representing the sports sector.

The other four board members 鈥� Jason Froese (JD Farms), Melissa Banovich (Fort 91原创 National Historic Site), Sylvia Jung (Sandman Signature Hotel) and Sinead O鈥機onnor (Cascades Casino Coast Hotel and Convention Centre) 鈥� still have one year left to serve of their two-year terms.

鈥淎t the March SGM (special general meeting), our membership spoke loud and clear when they voted to keep Tourism 91原创 together,鈥� said past director Gareth Abreo.

鈥淲ith the conclusion of our AGM, the Tourism 91原创 membership has elected five new members to the board of directors. I am confident with the new perspective from incoming members, and the determination of the existing board, all parties can come to an agreement that will continue to benefit tourism in the 91原创s.鈥�
