An important addendum to a 91原创 story that is getting plenty of provincial attention today needs to be made.
Gail Chaddock-Costello, the president of the , has been widely quoted about the pink wreaths that were to be laid at the door of Fort 91原创-Aldergrove MLA Rich Coleman's office. The teachers met for their rally at the 91原创 Events Centre, following a colourful picket line that was set up by teachers up and down 200 Street.
Coleman, of course, is the BC Liberal house leader and as such is one of the key figures in getting controvesial Bill 22, which prompted the three-day teachers' strike, through the Legislature.
Something that most members of the media may not know, and is unlikely to be reported, is that Chaddock-Costello was the NDP candidate in the 2009 provincial election in Fort 91原创-Aldergrove. Final vote tallies in that election race were Coleman 15,139, Chaddock-Costello 7,492.
At the time of the election, Chaddock-Costello was vice-president of the LTA.
