A series of trailer and skid-steer thefts have resulted in more than $150,000 of heavy equipment.
Police are seeking to identify a suspect involved in a series of construction machinery theft from Home Depot stores in 91原创, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Burnaby, and Vancouver.
In five incidents between May and June, the suspect rented a Bobcat510 wheeled skit-steers and trailers using a false name, removed the GPS trackers on the equipment, and didn鈥檛 return them, according to Coquitlam RCMP.
Cpl. Alexa Hodgins, of Coquitlam RCMP, said investigators believe the suspect has committed similar thefts across the Lower Mainland and selling the items on third-party websites below market value.
鈥淲e are asking anyone who believes they may have purchased a trailer or skid-steer from the suspect to contact the Coquitlam RCMP,鈥 Hodgins said.
The male suspect is described as between 30 and 40 years old, 5鈥7鈥 to 5鈥10鈥, and of a medium build.
He was seen wearing a grey long-sleeve zip-up hooded jacket with white writing or a graphic on the left side of the chest, blue shorts, black baseball cap, flip flops, and dark sunglasses.
Anyone who has information about these incidents or may recognize the suspect are asking to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2023-15469.
Police are reminding the public to be diligent when purchasing expensive items through third-party sellers.
