Coquitlam RCMP say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of alleged sexual assaults.
The male suspect was arrested Sunday (Dec. 8), according to a release from Coquitlam RCMP Wednesday. Police are now investigating nine reports where the male suspect is alleged to have inappropriately touched women as they walked.
The suspect has since been released on conditions.
Coquitlam RCMP first alerted the public on Saturday. At the time, there were seven separate reports of an unknown male inappropriately touching the buttocks of women as they were walking.
Five of those incidents are alleged to have happened between Wednesday, Dec. 4 and Thursday, Dec. 5, and between the hours of 3:30 and 8 p.m. in the Burquitlam area. Another two allegedly happened on Friday, Dec. 6 in Glen Park at 1158 Pipeline Rd.
Police say that in all five incidents, the male suspect ran away afterward.
