91原创 RCMP general duty officers arrested three people suspected of breaking into 91原创 homes on Sunday, Nov. 25, including one 49-year-old Surrey woman who paid some homeless men to help her steal a stove.

In total, three Surrey residents will be going to court in the New Year ,after two separate break-ins in the Willoughby area.

The first break-in was reported shortly after 9 a.m. A home owner in the 8400 block of 196 Street returned home to find a red pickup in her driveway. She blocked the vehicle in and called police.

Officers arrived quite quickly and spotted two men running from the property. The suspects ran through a treed area and were both arrested a short distance away, out of breath and covered in mud and leaves, said 91原创 RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Marks.

A police dog managed to do a reverse track from where they were arrested to the victim鈥檚 residence, said Marks.

Two Surrey men, aged 42 and 46, face break and enter charges.

Some two and a half hours later, a second break in was reported to police as a residential alarm in the 20400 block of 82 Avenue.

Police arrived to find two men and a woman loading a wood stove from the house into the trunk of a car.

They had gotten into the home through the front window. The woman, a 49-year-old Surrey woman, was arrested and will appear in Surrey Provincial Court in January.

The investigation suggested the two men involved were, in fact, homeless men from Surrey who had been paid to help the woman. They will not be charged, said Marks.
