SURREY 鈥 Surrey Creep Catchers President Ryan LaForge is unlikely to acquiesce to a privacy commission order to pull some of his group鈥檚 controversial videos from the internet.

鈥淚 told them to go f鈥攌 themselves,鈥 LaForge said in an online interview. 鈥淚 said it before from the beginning and I鈥檒l say it again, I will never destroy, I will never take down videos voluntarily. I will fight to the very, very end to keep all of those videos up.鈥

LaForge鈥檚 organization aims to weed out 鈥減otential predators鈥 by posing as children online, arranging to meet adults who think they鈥檝e been communicating with a child, confronting them, filming them and then posting the videos on Facebook.

Two people not named in the Office of the Information and Privacy Commission for British Columbia鈥檚 report complained that Surrey Creep Catchers 鈥渋mproperly collected, used and disclosed their personal information.鈥

Drew McArthur, acting information and privacy commissioner, decided 鈥渢he complainants did not consent to the collection or use of their personal information that they conveyed in their online chats with the organization鈥檚 decoy.鈥

鈥淚 require the organization to stop collecting, using or disclosing鈥 the complainants鈥 personal information, he ordered, as well as to 鈥渄estroy all records of the online communication鈥 the complainants 鈥渉ad with the organization鈥檚 decoy, both on its members electronic devices and in any hard copies.鈥

Creep Catchers has until Sept. 6th to confirm to his office this has been done, McArthur said.

LaForge says that鈥檚 not happening.

鈥淭hey think I鈥檓 going to pack up and run,鈥 LaForge told the Now-Leader on Wednesday. 鈥淣o, they鈥檙e not going down.鈥

When this matter first arose in February, LaForge said he was undeterred.

鈥淣o matter what, we鈥檙e not taking the videos down,鈥 he 鈥淭hat would defeat the whole purpose of what we鈥檙e doing.鈥

Jane Zatylny, a spokeswoman for the commission, said in February individuals who fail to comply with an order made by the commissioner under the Act could be hit with a fine under $10,000 and 鈥渙ther than an individual, to a fine of not more than $100,000.鈥
