RCMP鈥檚 homicide investigators are asking for any witnesses to come forward with information in the death of Corey Douglas Farmer of Chilliwack.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was deployed to Chilliwack yesterday after human remains were found in the 46100-block of Princess Avenue.
鈥淚HIT now has conduct of the investigation and is working closely in partnership with the UFVRD RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section,鈥 according to the IHIT release of Dec. 28.
On Thursday, a team of officers was still on the scene at the home, with evidence laid out in the backyard facing the alleyway.
Investigating officers have identified the victim as Corey Douglas Farmer, 35, in hopes of advancing the investigation.
鈥淚HIT is working with its partners in Chilliwack to canvass the area for witnesses and to collect CCTV,鈥 said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. 鈥淚f you have information regarding Mr. Farmer or his whereabouts in the time leading up to his death, and have yet to speak with police, now is the time to come forward.鈥
