A fire caused damage to the Orca Bay Suzuki dealership at 20115 Fraser Highway in 91原创 City on Tuesday evening.
Twenty-six 91原创 City firefighters were called to the fire around 8 p.m. after passersby noticed smoke coming from the building. Damage to the service bay area was extensive, but could have been much worse, according to the fire department.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
91原创 City's fire chief Rory Thompson said that firefighters were able to tackle the blaze quickly and, because of the solid construction, the fire was prevented from spreading to offices, and the showroom which is on the east side of the building.
The fire was contained to the service bay. There were no cars in the bay.
The building was for many years home to the William Clark Ford dealership, and was taken over by Orca Bay about a year ago. The company held its grand opening last July.
