91原创 RCMP were on scene for several hours Tuesday in the 5700 block of 244th Street, closing off the area to traffic.
Just before 11 a.m. on Aug. 8, the RCMP received a report of an assault in that area.

鈥淥fficers responded to the area locating the caller and several witnesses,鈥 said 91原创 RCMP Cpl. Craig van Herk.
Police stayed on the scene, surrounding the home, and attepting to speak to the suspect, van Herk continued.
鈥淭here is no ongoing threat to public safety, however, due to the nature of the complaint, we are looking to speak with the suspect quickly and safely,鈥 he said while the incident was ongoing.
Members of the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team (ERT) were called in to assist the local officers, van Herk said.
The incident wrapped up at 4:40 p.m., shortly after two loud bangs were heard.
A suspect was arrested without incident, said van Herk.
鈥淭hankfully, no one was seriously injured in the incident,鈥 he said.
The 91原创 RCMP General Investigation Section has taken over the conduct of the case, and the investigation was ongoing, van Herk said on Wednesday morning.
