PHOTOS: Rollover crash in Surrey sends 4 to hospital including infant

Collision on King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue

A rollover crash snarled traffic at a busy Surrey intersection on Monday afternoon (Aug. 19), at the corner of King George Boulevard and 96 Avenue.

Surrey RCMP say the preliminary investigation indicates a Range Rover was travelling eastbound on 96 Avenue when it crashed into a Nissan Rogue that was stopped waiting to turn into a restaurant, at around 2:15 p.m. The crash caused the Rogue to roll over, and the Range Rover came to a stop atop the Rogue, police say.

"When officers arrived on scene, they worked closely with Surrey Fire Service and BC Emergency Health Services to extricate all parties involved in the collision," according to a news release from the RCMP.

"The drivers of both vehicles, including a passenger and infant travelling in the Nissan Rogue, were all transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries."

Traffic lanes in the area have re-opened.

An investigation continues. Anyone who has information regarding this incident, or may have dash-camera footage, is asked to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-122943.
