North Delta residents are asked to check their yards, sheds and cars for an injured missing man after an urgent alert from the Delta Police Department.
Police have asked those in the Sunstone neighbourhood and surrounding vicinity to make the checks after a man left a home on foot at about 3:40 a.m. this morning (Monday, Dec. 9). He was wearing only underwear and had a "significant injury," according to a police press release.
The 21-year-old man, who is being identified only as Tajas, is described as being 5-9 and 120 pounds.
"Residents of the neighbourhood are asked to physically check yards, sheds, cars, or any areas where a person may be able to take shelter. The request is urgent, given the injury Tajas has sustained," the police press release notes.
If Tajas is located, residents are to call 911 immediately, and police and medical responders will attend. Residents are encouraged not to approach Tajas if he is located.
Multiple officers are currently in the area conducting a search, as well as conducting a video canvas to aid in locating Tajas.
More to come as information becomes available.
