Pedestrian airlifted after being hit by vehicle in Abbotsford

Collision Friday morning at Townline and Upper Maclure roads

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Friday morning (Dec. 13) in Abbotsford.

Sgt. Paul Walker, media officer with the Abbotsford Police Department (APD), said the collision occurred at 11:11 a.m. in the area of Townline Road and Upper Maclure Road.

He said the 20-year-old male pedestrian was struck while crossing at the intersection and was taken to hospital via air ambulance. He sustained life-threatening injuries.

"The driver was uninjured, remained on the scene, and is cooperating with police," Walker said.

Police say the intersection will be closed in both directions for most of the afternoon as investigators remain on scene.

Any witnesses or those with dashcam footage are asked to contact the APD at 604-859-5225.
