Another pedestrian in Surrey has tragically died after being hit by a car on a foggy Wednesday evening.
At about 5 p.m. on Wednesday (Dec. 4), a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the Bridgeview area of Surrey, on McBride Drive and King Road. The man who was struck was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries, according to a Surrey Police Service release.
The driver involved in the crash remained on scene, police added.
The last several days in the Lower Mainland have seen "dense fog" creating reduced visibility for those on the roads, with .
SPS and BC RCMP officers are continuing to investigate the incident and what the circumstances were that led to the crash and ultimate death of the victim.
In the aftermath of the crash, road closures, now lifted, were in effect for several hours.

This crash is the latest in a series of collisions that have injured or killed pedestrians on roads in Surrey in the last couple months.
They include a Nov. 1 crash where a person was hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck when they were attempting to cross the road in Whalley, in the 8800 block of 144 Street. Additionally, on Oct. 28 a pedestrian was hospitalized with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Surrey, in the area of 188 Street and 60 Avenue.
The day before on Oct. 27, a pedestrian died in a collision with a transit bus in the 7600-block of 128 Street in Surrey, while on Oct. 5, a pedestrian was injured and another killed after a vehicle struck a bus stop bench near 144 Street and Hyland Road in Surrey.
