The Delta Police Department is appealing to the driver in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian Sunday morning (Jan. 26) to reach out to police.
The crash happened at about 7 a.m. at the intersection of 66th Avenue and Scott Road in North Delta, Delta Police reported in a news release.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a seriously injured man, but the vehicle and driver involved had left the scene.
The pedestrian is a 25-year-old Surrey man who suffered "serious and extensive" injuries, police say.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black car, likely a sedan, that had been travelling south on Scott Road at the time of the collision.
Investigators are seeking information about the vehicle and driver. If you have any dashcam video, CCTV or witness evidence, you're asked to contact Delta Police at 604-946-4411 and quote file number 2025-1521.
The DPD is now appealing to the driver involved to contact the Delta Police Department.
Scott Road was closed for several hours for analysts to work on the scene, between Wade Road and 64th Avenue. The DPD announced on X/Twitter that officers were in the process of opening the scene as of about 2:20 p.m.
