A 30-year-old 91Ô´´ man has been charged with a baseball bat attack that sent a 19-year-old man to hospital with critical injuries.
It happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 11) in the parking lot of the Artful Dodger Pub at 2364 200 Street.
RCMP responding to a reported assault in progress arrived to find the teenage victim conscious but incoherent, with bruises on the left side of his head.
Investigators were told the victim was in his truck with two of his friends preparing to leave the parking lot when a man began striking their truck with a baseball bat.
The 19-year-old was attacked when he exited the vehicle.
He was rushed to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
On Wednesday (Sept. 14), police arrested 30-year-old 91Ô´´ resident Wade Cory Bryant.
The next day (Sept. 15), Bryant appeared in Surrey Provincial Court and was charged with assault with a weapon, aggravated assault and mischief Over $5000.
He was ordered held in jail until his next court appearance for a bail hearing.
