The Hilton hotel company is coming to Surrey with its "upscale, extended-stay" Homewood Suites chain of properties.
Aquilini Group, owners of Vancouver Canucks and many other business ventures, will manage the new all-suites hotel, to anchor the nearly completed City Centre 4 building of Surrey's Health and Technology District off 96 Avenue, north of Surrey Memorial Hospital.
To occupy the top nine floors of City Centre 4, the 189-suite hotel is said to offer "home-like accommodations for guests and their pets travelling for an extended stay or quick overnight trip." Included in the 132,000 square feet is a 6,000-square-foot rooftop amenity space.
The hospitality partnership was announced Monday (April 14) by Lark Group and ICT Group, developers of the mixed-use . The City Centre 4 and 5 towers are under construction, with a total of eight such buildings planned there.
Kirk Fisher, CEO of Lark Group, said the arrival of a Homewood Suites in Surrey "is a tell-tale sign of the incredible growth and magnetism of Surrey as a modern, world-class metropolitan city and a regional economic powerhouse especially here in the downtown core where the Health and Technology District is located."
Scheduled for completion this fall, the 25-floor City Centre 4 building will also be home to Western Community College鈥檚 expanding Surrey campus, a B.C-owned Stong鈥檚 Market and STEMS floral shop.

Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke calls the new Hilton property "a vital step in our evolution as a leading economic hub.

Homewood Suites by Hilton has more than 540 locations across the U.S., Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean, with 150 more in the works.
