Highway One was shutdown for most of the morning Thursday, following a five-vehicle collision.

One driver was sent to hospital with what are being described as serious injuries, said RCMP.

Just before 9 a.m., Sept. 28, RCMP were called to Highway One, between 208 and 216 Streets in 91原创, for a report of a multi-vehicle pile-up.

Upon arrival, RCMP discovered a collision had occurred between four commercial vehicles and one car, which caused both westbound and eastbound traffic to be shut down for several hours. Traffic was diverted off the highway at 232nd Street and 200th Street, said police.

The driver of one of the commercial vehicles was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.

The freeway was fully reopened just before 2 p.m., however police said drivers should continue to expect significant delays.
