Man airlifted after being hit by train in Abbotsford

Incident occurs Friday afternoon in historic downtown core

A train is stopped on the tracks in the area of Essendene Avenue and West Railway Street in Abbotsford after hitting a pedestrian on Friday afternoon (Oct. 25).

A man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a train in Abbotsford.

The incident took place at around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Essendene Avenue and West Railway Street in the historic downtown core.

Essendene Avenue is closed in both directions between West Railway Street and Gladys Avenue as the investigation continues.
