A 17-year-old male from 91原创 is facing impaired driving charges following an accident on Othello Forestry Road in Hope on Saturday.
Hope RCMP were called out to the scene at about 7:45 p.m. and found a rolled-over Chevrolet Blazer with seven passengers. Police said the group, who were in the area celebrating their upcoming graduation, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
鈥淭his is an accident that could have had a devastating impact on the community,鈥� said Cst. Tracy Wolbeck. 鈥淲e really can not be any more clear 鈥� drinking and driving do not mix.鈥�
Crown counsel will be assessing several possible impaired driving charges against the driver.
