91Ô­´´ City dog licence fees jump Feb. 2

Dog owners in 91Ô­´´ City may want to get their licences before prices rise Feb. 2.

The 2023 dog licences, for all dogs over the age of six months, are now due and payable.

Dog licence renewal forms were mailed to owners of dogs on record, and fees may be paid up to Feb. 1, at the lower rates.

The rate for an unfixed dog is $78, but that rises to $100 as of Feb. 2.

Neutered or spayed dog licences cost $39. As of Feb. 2, owners would pay $50.

There are reduced rates for seniors aged 65 and older. Unfixed dogs are $39, but $100 after the rate increase. Fixed dogs are $22 until Feb. 1 and $50 after that date.

The City requires proof that a dog has been spayed or neutered.

If people have lost their dog tags, replacements cost $10.

All mail postmarked or received by Feb. 1 will be processed at the lower rates.

People can go to the City finance department, 20399 Douglas Cres., to pay for a dog licence. For information, contact dogs@langleycity.ca or call 604-514-2800. There’s also information on the .

The licences can help reunite lost dogs with their owners and helps pay for dog parks, community dog waste bags, dog waste disposal, and more.

Both the City and Township have a contract with the 91Ô­´´ Animal Protection Society which provides bylaw enforcement and pound services, in addition to running the Patti Dale Animal Shelter.
